Because of its ability to chain damage, Electro is one of the strongest elements in Genshin Impact. When paired with a Hydro character, your team can quickly take out groups of enemies in seconds.
While there aren’t a lot of give-star Electro characters, there are several four-stars. In fact, one of them is given to you for free, and even the Traveler gets Electro abilities if you’ve gotten through parts of Inazuma. If you’re confused about who you should be using, this will show you the Electro characters in order from strongest to weakest.
Keep in mind that there’s no wrong character to play -- this is just a starting point in case you’re trying to figure out who fits best on your team.
1. Raiden Shogun
The Raiden Shogun herself is the best Electro character in Genshin Impact -- considering she’s the Electro archon, it makes sense. However, her five-star character status means that not everyone has her. If you do have her, she’s definitely the Electro character to use.
She can be a great main attacker or secondary attacker, and her skills help out the entire team when it comes to Elemental Burst damage. She also has the ability to deal damage passively when she’s not on the field, making it much easier to chain Electro damage with a Hydro character.
All in all, there’s very little wrong with Baal. The only thing she can’t do is cook -- however, plenty of your other characters can take care of that for you. If anything, it’s a good laugh when you try to cook and you literally can’t with her.
2. Keqing
Keqing is the other five-star Electro character, and she’s one that’s available throughout the game on the standard banner. When it comes to single bosses, Keqing shines.
Keqing’s ability has a super low cooldown, which means you can spam it pretty quickly. Her basic attacks are also pretty useful since they have the ability to knock enemies back. If you really wanted to, you could just knock them off cliffs and be done with them!
She also has a teleport, which makes her great at dodging attacks and getting up close and personal with enemies. It also makes exploring Teyvat with her a breeze.
3. Razor
While it’s up for debate who the strongest four-star Electro character is, Razor is one of the top picks. His ability to dish out major damage between his Elemental Burst and his regular attacks makes him a pretty popular pick.
Razor’s Elemental Burst also gives him higher defenses, which pairs great with the boosted damage he gets at the same time. When it comes to single-target fights, especially bosses, Razor is a strong choice.
One of the major downsides to Razor is that he can’t really leave Electro out on the field, making changing Elemental Reactions difficult. You pretty much have to use him as a main attacker, or a secondary attacker if you don’t want to take advantage of Elemental Reactions -- however, this generally isn’t recommended. It’s best to put him on a team that can work together without him and use him on cooldowns. This doesn’t make him a bad pick though, his damage alone is enough to place him above the other four-star Electro users.
4. Fischl
Fischl is a popular Electro user because she’s so easy to chain with. On top of that, her ability and her basic attacks have a pretty long range, so you can set up Elemental Reactions quickly.
Her ability lets her summon a bird that deals Electro damage to enemies over time. When you switch characters, the creature stays, so you have a constant source of Electro out on the field. She’s a bow user too, so you can stay far enough back to easily switch party members.
Additionally, her Elemental Burst lets her become a bird, dealing massive Electro damage to any nearby enemies and letting her fly to safety. This is also pretty handy when you’re stuck in the middle of the battlefield and you need to leave -- or when the enemies surrounding you are all wet.
5. Kujou Sara
Sara is one of the better support Electro users. She provides the Electro necessary to chain elements while also helping her team out.
Sara’s abilities give her team increased attack damage once you have her at C2, meaning that you’ve pulled her three times. Paired with the Electro damage she can dish out, she’s a pretty great support choice for certain teams. For example, if your team runs a lot of catalyst or bow users, then picking Sara instead of Fischl is great because you won’t get the same potential out of Fischl’s Elemental Burst ability.
However, she does need to be pulled multiple times before she becomes a great support.
6. Beidou
Beidou is one of the less popular Electro users, but she does have a place in some team compositions.
Beidou’s entire gameplay revolves around taking damage while her shield is up and then sending that damage right back out to enemies. This means you have to be ready to take a lot of hits, which isn’t something that everyone is comfortable doing.
On top of that, she can’t really apply Electro very well. She fits in the same spot on a team that Razor does, and it’s up to each player to decide whose playstyle they like best. However, Razor is generally considered the better choice between the two.
7. Traveler
Once you get into Inazuma’s story quests, the Traveler will gain Electro abilities. However, they’re not the best Electro user to use unless you just really need or want the Elemental Reaction chain.
The Traveler has the ability to put Electro out on the field and switch off with another party member, making chaining Electro pretty easy. However, the damage output is really low, and that’s pretty much all the Traveler can do that’s helpful.
8. Lisa
Similar to the other character Genshin Impact gives you for free, Lisa isn’t a very good choice. She’s available early on in the game, and she can do pretty much the exact same thing that the Traveler can do.
However, she just does it worse. The only benefit to using Lisa is that her basic attacks can chain Electro damage, so she’s useful anytime she’s around wet enemies. However, that’s not often enough, and she doesn’t do enough damage to make her a viable option.
