Event Overview

Description:
The Duelist Showdown is the flagship weekly event of the GamerXpress YGO Community. Designed for competitive duelists, it delivers fast-paced, high-stakes matches where only the strongest advance. Each week crowns one champion who earns prizes, recognition, and leaderboard points toward seasonal events like the Legacy Cup.

Rules & Structure:
- Matches follow official Konami TCG rules.
- 60-minute match timer; if no winner is declared, both duelists are disqualified unless ruled otherwise by a judge.
-Decks must be submitted before the deadline.
-No deck changes allowed after submission.
-Players must use physical cards and display a visible life counter on stream.
-Each duelist may request one deck check per match.
-Head Judge has final say in all rulings.

Purpose:
To provide a consistent, competitive environment for duelists to test their skill, represent their communities, and earn rewards while building toward larger seasonal tournaments.

Match Format
- Best-of-Three using official Konami TCG rules.
- Each round has a 60-minute time limit.
- If no winner is declared when time expires, both duelists receive a loss unless a judge rules otherwise.

Deck Submission
- Deck lists must be submitted via the ⁠deck-submission channel on Discord by Friday before the event @ 11:59 PM CST.
- Once submitted, no deck changes are allowed for that week’s event.
- Each duelist may request one deck check per match.

Equipment & Setup
- All duels must be played using physical Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.
- A visible life counter must be shown on stream at all times. (At least one player)
- Duelists are responsible for maintaining their own life points accurately.
- ENTIRE field must be showing
- Each Duelist has the right to request a view adjustment, in order to see the entire field.

Conduct & Fair Play
- Cheating, stalling, or unsportsmanlike behavior results in immediate disqualification.
- Duelists must remain respectful toward opponents, judges, and staff.
- Any disputes must be reported to a judge immediately.

Judges & Rulings
- The Head Judge has final authority on all rulings and disputes.
- Match time pauses during judge mediation and resumes once a ruling is given.

Streaming & Verification
- Matches are hosted through Discord voice/video and streamed to TikTok Live(select matches).
- Duelists must ensure their camera angle clearly shows the field and cards in play.
- Failure to maintain a clear view may result in a match loss.

Prizes & Results
- 1st Place - $20 TCGPlayer Gift Card
- Winners are announced after the final match each Saturday night.
- Prizes are distributed within 14 days of event completion.

Registration
- Registration closes Friday before the event @ 11:59 PM CST each week.
- Entry Fee: $5 per duelist.
- Duelists must provide their Discord username when registering.
